Wheaton vs Brandeis and WPI

Wheaton took to the Balfour Natatorium this past week for a double-duel meet against Brandeis and Worcester Poly Tech (WPI).

The women got off to a quick start winning the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:55.65 and they continued to dominate with wins in 13 of 16 events. Standout swims included Sarah Houlihan's 1000 and 500 free (11:19.68, 5:31.95), Dania Piscetta, Caroline Isaac and Sarah Millers 1, 2, 3 finishes in the 200 free (2:02.25, 2:03.96, 2:04.32), Dana Auger's win in the 50 free (26.94) and Dania Piscetta's win in the 200 IM (2:13.72). Julia Wright continued to rule the diving boards with wins on both the 1 meter and 3 meter boards. Final scores - Wheaton vs Brandeis 179-107 and Wheaton vs WPI 207-86. The men were not as fortunate, losing both meets, Wheaton vs Brandeis 109-173 and Wheaton vs WPI 118-169. The only events the men walked away with wins were the 1 and 3 meter diving events - Congrats Jon Gold! The 200 medley relay team defeated WPI, but lost to Brandeis and sophomore Devon Best lost the 200 backstroke to WPI, but defeated Brandeis in a very respectable 2:08.08.
