Wheaton Men Take Down Roger Williams

The Wheaton Lyon men were in great spirits Friday night after hearing their efforts in the pool had granted them a win against Roger Williams University. The sophomore's of Eddie Gillie, Sam Dean-Lee, Ben Sabol, Zach Fichman-Klein, Corey Best and Jon Gold stepped up to the blocks with determination in their eyes and it paid off. Eddie captured three wins in the 100 and 200 freestyle and the 200 individual medley. Sam secured a win in the 500 freestyle and successfully swam two second place finishes behind Eddie in the 100 and 200 freestyle. Ben grabbed some important points in his three events, 2nd in the 50 freestyle as Zach snagged a win in the 50 butterfly. Corey was victorious in the 200 butterfly and Jon came out on top in the 3M Diving event securing Wheaton's attempt at winning the meet. The freshman men also stepped up with Cole Larson-Whittaker winning the 1000 freestyle, Devon Best capturing 2nd in the 200 backstroke, Charlie Western grabbing second in the 200 butterfly and Trevor Deans taking second in the 200 breaststroke and third in the 200 individual medley.

The Wheaton men and women are home to take on MIT next Saturday at 1:00pm.
